The origin of the book has several roots.

When James Bowen co-founded a technology company, he was 21 years of age and had little guidance or mentorship to draw upon.

In those days technology companies were a relatively new phenomenon and advice for start-ups wasn't readily available.

Later, entrepreneurial forums started and were filled with founders seeking advice for their situation or reassurance of their decisions.

Founders were also asking for advice from advisors. Those that didn't have advisors wished that "if only I could have lunch with an experienced successful entrepreneur I would ask him/her many questions."

In addition, students are a great source of new ideas and perspectives about technology and yet have little support as they start a company.

As entrepreneurs, we have observed that the percentage of people starting their own companies is too small; there is not an entrepreneurial culture. We need to change that.

Get the Advice you need, now!

This book addresses these issues by providing practical advice to entrepreneurs.

We have gathered together over 25 experts and each has contributed an article filled with practical advice. The book is meant to be a knowledge source for those decisions we face as we start and grow our companies.

It is also worth noting that all the authors have donated their knowledge. All proceeds of the book will go to support student technology entrepreneurship!
